How to fund your Australian studies

1

Australia is likely near the top of your list of study destinations, and the country offers you a unique combination of prestigious universities and world-class education, sunshine and barbies on the beach.
Here’s some info you need to know on the costs involved:

  • Undergrad degree: approx. C$14,000 – $31,000 per year (Study in Australia website)
  • Postgrad degree: approx. C$19,000 to $34,000 per year
  • Living costs for a year: approx. $17,000.

Scholarships: The good news is that there are scholarships available.  Check out Australia Awards scholarships, funded by the Australian Government.  Many Australian universities also offer scholarships to international students.

Scholarships: Canadians are eligible for Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships – check here to learn more.

Work while you study: Most student visas allow you to work for up to 40 hours every two weeks during your semester and unlimited hours during your course break, so this will help cover some of your living expenses and allow you to get valuable work experience. Check here for more information.
